Ali Amirkhosravi, PhD

Dr. Ali Amirkhosravi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at AdventHealth University (AHU) in Orlando, Florida since May 2023. Dr. Amirkhosravi earned his bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences from the University of Portsmouth in the U.K. and his doctoral degree in Medical Research form the University of Southampton in the U.K. In 1994, he moved to the United States to continue his post-doctoral studies in thrombosis and cancer at the Center for Thrombosis Research at AdventHealth. Dr. Amirkhosravi has over twenty years of experience in basic and translational research in the areas of hemostasis and thrombosis, immunology, and cancer biology and has published numerous original research articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, national and international scientific conferences. Dr. Amirkhosravi has mentored undergraduate (B.S.), M.S., PhD., medical students as well as physician scientists in conducting biomedical research studies. He is also experienced in consulting pharmaceutical companies in developing studies for testing therapeutics for efficacy and safety in the areas of thrombosis, immunology, and cancer biology, as well as designing studies aimed at understanding the mechanism of action of therapeutics. Prior to joining the faculty at AHU, he lectured human pathophysiology and clinical laboratory diagnosis at the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Central Florida.
