About Christina Mandalis-Defour, DNP, CRNA, APRN

Christina Mandalis-Defour was born and raised in Michigan and completed her first degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts and Sciences from Michigan State University in 1993. Dissatisfied with her chosen path, she returned to school and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Wayne State University in 1997. After working as a critical care nurse in Detroit, she applied to nurse anesthesia school. In 2002 she earned a Master of Science Degree in Nurse Anesthesia from Oakland University. Christina spent the majority of her career at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, a level-one trauma center located in Clinton Township, MI. She served various roles in anesthesia, from staff CRNA to manager of the anesthesia department.
In 2020, she began her pursuit of a DNP at Barry University and graduated in 2022. Her main interests include healthcare simulation, evidence-based practice and the social/psychological implications of being a healthcare worker.
Christina joined the DNAP program at AdventHealth University in 2023. Her responsibilities include teaching evidence-based practice and simulation.
