Dr. Mondary has been an ASN nursing faculty member at AHU since 2024. Her academic credentials include an ASN from the College of the Desert, a BSN from the University of Phoenix, an MSN in Education from Walden University, and a DNP in Nursing Leadership and Healthcare Innovations from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
Dr. Mondary worked in a Level III Perinatal unit and has significant experience in complex and high-risk cases. She holds a Maternal Newborn Nurse (MNN) certificate. Dr. Mondary played a pivotal role in the development of a Level I Birthing Center in a rural community, where she served as the opening nursing director. Her professional background also includes work in Intermediate Care, quality improvement, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation. Additionally, for pediatric remediation, she completed coursework, and clinical hours, and participated in team teaching. For her DNP project, she completed a quality improvement initiative focused on women’s health and improving cervical cancer screening rates in a rural healthcare clinic. The results of this project were statistically significant, demonstrating that simple nursing interventions can greatly improve patient outcomes.
For sixteen years, Dr. Mondary was an adjunct nursing faculty member at two community colleges in California and most recently served as a full-time faculty member and interim nursing director before relocating to Florida. She has taught various subjects, including Maternal-Child-Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Pharmacology, and Medical Terminology, and has assisted with Medical Services courses and skills labs. She teaches the Maternal-Child Nursing and Pediatric courses for the ASN Program at AHU.
Dr. Mondary is actively involved in several AHU Department of Nursing and University committees, including the Curriculum Committee. Dr. Mondary is committed to contributing and being involved in community-focused projects and organizations and has previously served on the Board of Directors for a Domestic Violence Shelter in California.
