- Do the TEAS test scores have an expiration?

The TEAS does not have an expiration date. However, we only accept the TEAS 6 and 7 Version (VI and VII) with a composite score of 62.5% . If you have a different version, you will need to take the TEAS version 7.
- How many times can I take the TEAS test?

Applicants may take the ATI TEAS three (3) times within 12 months and a minimum of 30 days in between attempts.
- What is a cognate course?

These are your core courses: math, and the physical and social science courses. These include CHEM101, BIOL101, 102 w/labs, BIOL225, w/lab, MATH103, STAT 205, PSYC128 AND ENGL101.
- If I took a higher level of Math can it be transferred in?

We require MATH103 Survey of Math. If you have taken a higher level of math it may be transferred in and satisfy the math requirement.
- How many students are accepted each term?

We can accept up to 70 students each intake for the Orlando daytime option, up to 35 students for the Orlando evening option, and up to 24 students at our Denver site.
- When will I know if I am accepted into the program?

The Office of Admissions has moved to rolling admission and will continue to consider applications until all seats have been filled. With rolling admissions, the Office of Admissions will evaluate applications as they are completed versus waiting to evaluate all applications after a hard deadline. Program Admission communication will be sent electronically to the AHU email. For Conditional Admissions, all applications will be reviewed after November 1 for the Spring intake and July 1 for the Fall intake. Decisions may take up to 6 weeks to be issued after the application closes.
- How soon should I apply for this degree?

We recommend immediately applying upon acceptance into our General Studies program if you have most of the prerequisites and TEAS completed.
- How can I prepare before beginning my application?

- Make sure to be admitted for General Studies.
- Send official transcripts for each institution you attended with courses in progress.
- Register for outstanding pre-requisite courses.
- Take the TEAS.
- What will my application be evaluated on?

Applications are evaluated on the following components:
- A minimum combined 3.00 GPA in cognate prerequisite courses
- Achieved ATI TEAS Composite score of 62.5%
- When is my application considered complete?

An application is considered complete when:
- A Nursing program application has been submitted through the my.ahu student portal
- An official TEAS score has been submitted to the Office of Admissions
- All required prerequisite courses have been completed or are in progress as shown on official transcripts
