Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I take Nuclear Medicine courses ahead of time?
-
No; students must adhere to the curriculum sequence outlined in our Academic Catalog. General education courses may be finished ahead of time barring a conflict with the required Nuclear Medicine courses for the trimester.
- Can I choose when and where I perform my clinical education?
-
Students are strictly assigned to their clinical sites by the program faculty. Unfortunately, we cannot make special allowances according to a student's address, work schedule, or personal obligations. Students may have to drive considerable distances to reach their clinical sites.
- When do I have to have all my health records?
-
More information will be listed in the program acceptance letter.
- How do I become licensed to perform Computed Tomography and Nuclear Medicine?
-
Once a student passes his or her national nuclear medicine board certification (NMTCB or ARRT (N)), the next step will be to take the CT exam sponsored by either the NMTCB or ARRT. AdventHealth University has created a dual licensure opportunity with the course curriculum including the necessary CT classes as well as clinical training. As of 2020, AHU is the first accredited university to incorporate CT requirements into an accredited BS nuclear medicine program in the state of Florida and one of just a few schools in the United States.
